gc-baseball-3-13-106.gifBeaver Falls, PA- The Geneva offense came alive Wednesday afternoon and pounded out 18 hits but St. Vincent made more efficient use of its eight hits and won 12-7.

Aaron Witman (Shalom Christian Academy, PA) led the Geneva attack with four singles and Ryan McGonigle (Apollo-Ridge) added three. Garrett Swanson (Blackhawk) had Geneva′s only extra base hit - a triple- and drove home two runs. Swanson also had a single and joined three other Golden Tornadoes with four hits - Dan Jeffreys (Moon), Tyler Damazo (Blackhawk), and Jeremy Herzog (Freedom). Caleb Metzler (Warwick., PA) took the loss for Geneva.

"We dug too big of a hole to start the game but fought back well," said coach Alan Sumner. "We′ve got to learn to start games stronger."

Geneva, now 7-18 overall and 3-9 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference, will next play Saturday against Bethany.
