gc-bb-4-14-297.jpgGreenville, PA - Geneva had finally fought all the way back from a 4-1 deficit and tied the game in the top of the ninth with a two-out double by Tyler Damazo (Blackhawk). But the excitement didn′t last as Thiel′s Cody Trinch led off the bottom of the ninth with a home run and sent Geneva home with the 5-4 loss.

That was a tough loss to Thiel," said Geneva coach Alan Sumner. "To battle back to tie and then have it end on a walkoff home run. We need to regroup and get ready for them again for senior day."

Damazo was one of three Geneva players to finish with two hits, joining Dan Jeffreys (Moon) and Andy Santana (Desert Christian, Dominican Republic). Santana also had a first inning home run.

Geneva, 12-25 and 8-14 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference, hosts Thiel in a Saturday doubleheader.
