pan_photo.jpgPeter Pan is soaring onto campus this weekend with the Geneva College Student Activities team showing of Hook for their Saturday, August 30 Movie on the Lawn event.

The event starts at 8:08 p.m. and will include pre-movie trivia and in-house movie trailers, as well as popcorn, drinks and the feature film. The screen will be set up on Memorial Lawn with seating on the hill overlooking Memorial Hall.

Following soon after will be auditions for Geneva College Theatre′s fall show, Peter Pan.

Producing Peter Pan at Geneva has been a dream of director Mindy Williams. “This show is going to be so much fun and, of course, it will have a bit of my own twist to it,” she said

Auditions for the production will be held on September 1 and 2 at 6 p.m. in the Bagpiper Theater.

According to Williams, there are at least 30 roles to fill. Casting is flexible and many roles can be played by either a female or a male actor.

Williams noted, “No experience or preparation is necessary but, of course, it′s welcome. This version is a play, not a musical, so no singing experience is necessary.”

“Between Movie on the Lawn and Geneva College Theatre′s Peter Pan, Geneva′s campus should prepare for a sprinkling of pixie dust and a bit of adventure,” added Chris Strangfeld, Graduate Assistant of Student Activities.
