Geneva tennis fights for split at Penn State Altoona

Beaver Falls, PA- Geneva tennis was on the road today at Penn State Altoona facing both the hosting team and Clarion. After an early 8-1 loss to Clarion Geneva continued to press on late into the night for a stellar 5-4 win over Penn State Altoona. The win keeps Geneva tennis in the win column with a 2-1 overall record.

"After a very long day of tennis I′m happy to come out with a win. We fought hard for it, and it feels good to move forward with a winning record" said head coach Mandee Craft.

Highlighting the day′s performance was Elizabeth Stewart (Rochester, PA/Rochester) and Sara Stoll (Norwalk, OH/Norwalk). "Stewart and Stoll were the last two finishing and we needed both their point for the win." Stoll won 8-4 while Stewart finished the job 8-6 for the team victory.

Saturday September 6th Geneva is back on the road at LaRoche for a noon start.
