Pittsburgh, PA- An unusual 9:00 start didn′t change the fortunes of the Geneva men′s soccer team as the Golden Tornadoes downed Point Park 1-0 on a late (10 minutes left) goal by senior Jeremy Troutman (Millerstown, PA/Midd-West). The game was played at Highmark Stadium.
"We fought hard for 90 minutes and got a great goal by Jeremy," said Geneva coach Gary Dunda. "Our goalkeeper, Bryan Butler, played a fantastic game."
Butler, a senior from Millersville, MD/Annapolis Christian, recorded his first shutout of the season as Geneva improved to 5-1-1.
The Golden Tornadoes resume action Saturday with a home game against Lycoming.
