Beaver Falls, PA- Geneva football freshman defensive back Nate Cannon (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. / Kings Academy) and men′s soccer junior forward Daniel Cox (Cary, NC/Cary) were selected as the Presidents′ Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Nate Cannon was the league′s selection for the PAC Special Teams Player of the Week. Cannon returned a punt return 95 yards, breaking the record set by Ron Michel in 1997 with a 89-yarder against Walsh. Cannon′s return earned Geneva its first points of the game against Frostburg State. In addition to his record setting return Cannon grabbed an interception in the second quarter for 15 yards.
Daniel Cox was selected as the PAC Offensive Player of the Week. Cox found the back of Franciscan's net in the 61st minute allowing Geneva the 2-1 lead over Franciscan. He followed up his goal with three consecutive assists as the score became 5-1 over Franciscan. Cox continued his drive to the net Saturday night against the visiting Allegheny Gators. Tied 1-1, playing a man down due to a soft red card given early in the second half, Cox finish a beautiful crossed ball from a Crider, Musselman effort for the win, allowing Geneva to remain unbeaten.
