Tennis drops 6-3 final to Waynesburg

gc-tennis-8-14-167.jpgBeaver Falls, PA- Geneva dropped a 6-3 final decision to Waynesburg in Friday′s home conference match. The loss lowers the Golden Tornadoes overall record to 3-1, 1-1 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference (PAC).

"The match took four and a half hours and there were some definite highs and lows but we battled hard and have nothing to hang our heads about" said head coach Mandee Craft.

In doubles, Sara Stoll (Norwalk, OH/Norwalk) and Megan Hinds (Montrose, PA/Montrose) defeated opponents 8-1. In addition, Hinds defeated her singles opponent 7-6, 6-3, 1-0. Samantha Jensen (Muskegon, MI/Mona Shores) grabbed a win for the GTs over the Yellow Jackets, 6-7, 6-3, 1-0.

Friday September 19th the Golden Tornadoes are back in action visiting the school up north (Westminster) for a match starting at 4 p.m.
