Women′s Soccer falls 5-1 to Mt. Vernon; stand with 1-2 overall record

Beaver Falls, PA- Geneva faced Mt. Vernon on Reeves Field Saturday afternoon. The Golden Tornadoes fell 5-1 against the visiting Cougars, dropping their overall record to 1-2.

Mt. Vernon found the back of the net in the ninth minute of the game and continued to rack up four goals in the first half. Geneva′s Kimberly Orihel (Clinton, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) put the Golden Tornadoes on the scoreboard right before the end of the first half. Geneva would be unable to score again despite multiple efforts by Heidi Mann hitting the cross bar and post in the second half.

Geneva travels to LaRoche on Tuesday for its next game at 4 p.m.
