Branches_Braedon2.jpgThe Geneva College Student Programs Office is beginning a new arts initiative on campus called Three Past Three. Branches, a Christian indie/folk band from California, is kicking off the program on Thursday, October 23 at 3:03 p.m. in Geneva′s Brigadoon.

The program is a cultural development series of student artists and outside artists performing music, painting, reciting poetry, or any other form of artistic expression. Each performance will be held on the Brigadoon stage at 3:03 p.m. every Thursday, beginning with the performance of Branches.

Branches got its start in a living room in the suburbs of Los Angeles in 2010. Since then, the band has produced several albums and toured with groups such as MUTEMATH, Ivan and Alyosha, Twin Forks, Milo Greene, Charlie Peacock, Tyrone Wells, and Family of The Year. Branches was also recently listed as one of the "12 California Acts You Should Listen to Now" by Paste Magazine.

Ryan Holt, the director of the Student Programs Office (SPO) says, "We′ve been trying to bring in more outside talent as well as showcase the talented students we have at Geneva, and I think Three Past Three will accomplish that."

Student Activities graduate assistant, Chris Strangfeld, added, "This is intentionally an afternoon program because, as of right now, it is the only consistent afternoon program we have. We hope that students in the Brig as well as commuter students will attend."

More information about the Student Programs Office can be found on the SPO webpage.
