Geneva men′s soccer outlasts St. Vincent 2-0

Latrobe, PA- The first 78 minutes of the game were scoreless until Geneva junior captain Sean Bernardi (Butler, PA/Butler) scored on an assist from Zach Lehman (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) to break the tie. Just over three minutes later, senior Jeremy Troutman (Millerstown, PA/Midd-West) doubled the lead.

"The longer it stayed 0-0, the harder the St. Vincent team worked," said Geneva coach Gary Dunda. "They put in a workmanlike effort, but our kids were up to the challenge.

"It′s hard to win a conference game on the road but this one was a character builder."

The win improved Geneva′s record to 9-3-4 and 4-1-1 in Presidents′ Athletic Conference action.

Geneva returns to action October 29, hosting Waynesburg at 7:30 p.m.
