Cross Country Competes at Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble

xc011.jpgBeaver Falls, PA- Geneva′s men and women′s cross country teams competed in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday morning. The men finished in 32nd place while the women finished in 27th.

"Our goal going into the race was to compete well against our PAC conference opponents; we did that very well. On the women's side we only lost to Grove City and on the men's side we only lost to St. Vincent and Grove City. On both sides, we beat Westminster, Chatham (women), Thiel, Bethany, and W&J," commented head coach Brian Yowler.

"This confirms that our training is paying off, and we are right where we want to be heading into the PAC championships in two weeks. Our talented freshman are really developing and improving dramatically."

"Freshman Clay Smith (27:57) took over the number one spot on our team and became the first freshman since Nick Edinger to break 28-minutes!"

"In fact, 14 of the 16 Geneva runners had season-best performances, despite the mud."

Saturday November 1 both programs will compete in the PAC Championships held at Bethany College.
