gcm185.jpgBeaver Falls, PA - Senior Tyler Damazo (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk), made his 2014-15 debut after missing two games with an injury and made up for lost time. He finished with 15 points and none was bigger than his layup with 7:14 left that tied the game at 48-48 after the Golden Tornadoes had trailed by nine (43-34) just seven minutes earlier.

“It was a game of runs and we had guys step up,” said Geneva coach Jeff Santarsiero. “Tyler had a solid game for being gone as long as he was.

“Ethan (Adamczyk) had another double-double and a win’s a win, we’re glad to get it.”

Damazo’s return wasn’t the only big effort of the night, either. Junior Ethan Adamczyk (Uniontown, OH/Lake) recorded his second double-double of the young season with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

It was Geneva’s first win of the season after two losses and was also Geneva’s first win in three games against Pitt-Greensburg.

Geneva’s season continues Saturday at 3:00 against Franciscan.
