CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY- Geneva freshman Gib McCracken (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver County Christian School) scored his third goal of the season in the second half – at 66:58 - to tie top-seeded Thomas More in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference semifinal, but the Golden Tornadoes weren’t able to score again and fell 2-1 on a goal with just 1:02 left in the second overtime.

A controversial second yellow card in the first overtime made the challenge even bigger for Geneva.

“I didn’t look to me like the second yellow card was warranted but still the guys still played hard the whole way,” said head coach Gary Dunda. “I’m very proud of this group.

“They showed great resolve and character to come back and tie and then to battle that long and hard with just 10 players made it a tough loss. I’m really sad we couldn’t take the season longer for the seniors – they’re a great group – but I couldn’t be more proud of this team.”

Geneva finishes its season 10-6-3.
