Hughes14.jpgBeaver Falls, PA– Freshman outside hitter, Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton), has been selected as the Corvias ECAC NCAA Division III South Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.

The Golden Tornadoes finished second in the 2014 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship last week after facing Bethany College and Thomas More. Hughes tallied 39 kills (3.5 per set) while hitting .298 percent.

Hughes has previously been selected as the Corvias ECAC Rookie of the Week for the weeks of October 15, 2014 and October 29, 2014.

This week Hughes was named among six Golden Tornadoes on the leagues all-conference team.

Geneva continues its 2014 season on Saturday at Carnegie Mellon University in the ECAC South Region Semi-finals.
