Monaca, PA - Geneva fell behind early and the deficit reached as many as 20 in the first half and the Golden Tornadoes never recovered in the second half, falling 85-61. Penn State Beaver improves to 3-2 while Geneva falls to 1-3 on the season.
Geneva was led by sophomore Nicole Hyland (Trafford, PA/Penn-Trafford) with 22 points, the highest single game total by any Geneva player this season and she added a team-high eight rebounds. Fellow sophomore Miranda Heaney (New Castle, PA.Union) added 16 points and junior Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) had 13.
The Golden Tornadoes return to action Saturday at 4 p.m., hosting Houghton.
