The arts flourish at Geneva with The Geneva Reading Series: Nostalgia on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the West Reading Room of Geneva College’s McCartney Library.

Wednesday’s event will feature the literary talent of Professor Russ Warren, Dr. Megan Morton, Ryan Griedel, and Caleb Ramsier; the musical talent of David Parker; and a special appearance of Josiah Everett and Spencer Green.

Dr. Daniel Williams, Professor of English at Geneva College, established and organized The Geneva Reading Series (GRS).

“The original inspiration was inter-departmental/major fellowship, a living example of unity,” said Williams. “The GRS pulls not only from English, but has drawn readers from Bible, Philosophy, History, Engineering and Music, to name a few. It's also a night of showing off Geneva's vast stores of talent, a way to celebrate the arts and to make a collective statement of appreciation for the creative vibrancy in all of us.”

Warren, who read for The GRS last year and plans to share prose and poetry on Wednesday, said, “Being with others who want to hear and rejoice in poetry, in literature, in song is the best part. You get a sense of solidarity and ease from being there.  I'm looking forward to that sense, but also to whatever Dr. Williams has in store.”

Coffee from Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea Co. and homemade refreshments will be served by members of Geneva’s English Club.
