CLEVELAND, OH - For the second day in a row, Geneva played competitively for most of the first half before faltering late and the second half wasn’t kind to the Golden Tornadoes at the Case Western Tournament. This time, Geneva lost to conference foe St. Vincent in a non-conference setting 85-63.

The game featured 10 lead changes and three ties in the first 12 minutes but, once St. Vincent took the lead 23-22 with 8:26 left in the first half, the Bearcats never gave it up.

“I’m disappointed in our defense,” said Geneva coach Jeff Santarsiero. “We want to be the best defense in the conference and we’ve given up over 80 in back to back games.

“We’ll work on that and get ready for the conference season to start this weekend. Everyone is 0-0 in conference.”

Geneva was led by junior Ethan Adamczyk (Uniontown, OH/Lake) with 18 points and senior Jacob Jaros (Levittsburg, OH/LaBrae) had 11 points. Adamczyk was named to the All-Tournament team.

Geneva, now 3-8 overall will return to Presidents’ Athletic Conference action Saturday at 3:00, visiting Grove City.
