Road not kind to Geneva men, fall at Thiel 69-58

GREERNVILLE, PA - Just three days after never trailing and scoring 81 points at home, Geneva traveled to Greenville and saw the trend reverse. The Golden Tornadoes never led and scored just 58 in a loss at Thiel.

“It was disappointing, especially after the other night,” said Geneva coach Jeff Santarsiero. “We couldn’t make our free throws and had too many turnovers in the first half, we were lucky to be down just by five.

“Then we start the second half with turnovers again, come back, cut the lead to four, and then miss the front end of three one and ones. Our mistakes came in bunches, it’s frustrating but we know what we need to do to get better, now we just have to do it.”

Now 7-11 overall and 4-5 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play, Geneva was led in scoring for the second straight game by junior Ethan Adamczyk (Uniontown, OH/Lake) with 18. No other player scored in double digits.

Geneva will next play at Bethany Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
