Youngstown, OH – Senior Josh Guiser (Newell, PA / Frazier) defeated Thiel’s Christopher Jones by .007 of a second for the gold in the men’s 60 meter dash crossing the finish line in 7.062 seconds. His fraction of a second gold medal led the Golden Tornadoes to a 74 point finish of fourth place in the Inaugural Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships.

Indoor Track and Field became an official PAC sport during the 2014-15 school year hosted by Youngstown State University. The Golden Tornadoes’ 74 points allowed them to finish over Waynesburg, Grove City, Thomas More, Thiel, and W&J. Bethany College claimed the first-ever Championship with 109.5 points.

Juniors Dalton Paxson (Rochester, PA/Rochester) in the 60 meter hurdles (8.73) and Jacob Mellinger (Leetonia, OH / Crestview) in the 200 meter dash (23.04) finished with a silver medal.

Freshman Clay Smith (Williamsport, MD / Williamsport) claimed the bronze in the one mile run with a final time of 4:34.37.

Geneva’s 4x400 relay team made up of Guiser, freshman Aaron Tedys (Riverside, PA / Riverside), senior Ryan White (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) and Mellinger claimed a bronze medal (3:26.41).

In the field, sophomore Issac Barringer (Delta, OH / Toledo Christian) earned a fourth place finish in shot put (13.24) and fifth place in the weight throw (12.41).

Sophomore Jacob Lagorga (North Huntington, PA / Norwin) won a bronze medal in the pole vault event (3.80) tying the school record.

Head coach Phil Thompson said, "What's crazy is we missed second place by three points. The team performed today and I am very proud of the team effort."

Saturday March 21 the Golden Tornadoes will start the outdoor season at the California University of Pennsylvania.
