PAC 60th Anniversary Celebrates Geneva Student-Athletes

pac 60

pac 60Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva has been full members of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) since 2011 in its transition into NCAA Division III. Even though the PAC and Geneva have a young relationship, the PAC has been around since 1955. Originally organized by Case Institute of Technology, Western Reserve University, John Carroll University, and Wayne State University, this year the league celebrated 60 years highlighting member athletes including the Golden Tornadoes.

"The Presidents' Athletic Conference has been a great fit for Geneva College and we are thrilled to be celebrating its 60th anniversary alongside our other conference members," said Athletic Director Van Zanic. "Our honorees being recognized as a part of the 60th anniversary celebration hold a very special place in our hearts.  In addition to the great successes they enjoyed in the athletic arena, each of them helped Geneva College make a smooth transition to the NCAA Division III. We join the rest of our conference members in congratulating each of these student athletes for their great contributions on and off the field."

Two stipulations were put in place to qualify for the PAC 60th anniversary; the student-athlete must be an alumni at the PAC member institution and had played as a full member of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

Geneva’s Golden Tornadoes honored on the PAC 60th Anniversary team include football’s Dillon Goodell (Tarpon Springs, FL/Tarpon Springs) and Zack Hayward (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk), women’s volleyball’s Deanna Briody (Oakdale, NY/Connectquot), Ashley Davis (New Middletown, Ohio/Springfield Local) and Rachel Kueglar (Bel Air, MD/Fallston), women’s tennis’ Christine Bullock (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional), Julie Kline (Parkersburg, WV/Wood County Christian) and Brittany Kress (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell), women’s soccer’s Elise Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Colorado Springs Christian) and Risa Tillman (Colorado Springs, CO/Colorado Springs Christian), men’s soccer’s Jake McCracken (Beaver Falls, PA/BCCS) and Jeb Nash (Bolingbrook, IL/Timothy Christian), women’s cross country’s Alayna (Merkle) Edinger (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg) and Shannon Rech (Austintown, OH/Austintown Fitch), and men’s cross country’s Nick Edinger (Mars, PA/Mars).
