BEAVER FALLS, PA - The Thomas More women’s basketball team came to Beaver Falls to play its first game since moving into the top position in the NCAA Division III poll and showed why – the Saints handed Geneva a 90-40 loss.

“They’re not the number one team in the country by accident,” said Geneva coach Lori Wynn. “But I thought we played with a lot of guts, we hung in there until the end.

“We played better at certain aspects than we did when we played them down there. I’m proud of our effort.”

Junior Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) led Geneva with 10 points as she continued her march towards 1000 career points. She now has 944, 42 points behind Jodie Tagliaferri in 12th place in career scoring at Geneva.

Thomas More was led by Sydney Moss, daughter of former NFL star Randy Moss, with 17 points. Moss also had seven assists.

Geneva, now 4-18 and 2-13 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play, will play at Chatham at 2:00 Saturday.
