Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva was hitting on all cylinders early, building a 31-21 halftime lead and extending it to 35-24 early in the second half, but that was the high point of the game for the Golden Tornadoes.

Archrival Westminster started a 21-3 run at that point and never gave back the lead as Geneva fell 52-46.

“It’s happened all year and I think it’s a sign that we’re young,” said Geneva coach Lori Wynn. “We only have one senior this year and one next year so we don’t have the upperclassmen to take charge and settle things down like other teams do.”

“It’s a learning process.”

One of those two upperclassmen, though, is junior Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) who reached the 1,000-point mark late in the game. She became the 12th Geneva woman to reach 1,000 points. She finishes the season with 1001. She also had 13 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season. Mann finished the season with a scoring average of 15.1 points per game and averages 9.6 rebounds.

Geneva finishes the season with a 4-21 record, 2-16 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play.
