New Wilmington, PA – Saturday, April 11 the Geneva men’s track and field team competed at Westminster placing sixth out of the 20 teams competing.

Head Coach Phil Thompson said, “This was a great meet for us. Everyone was at their best and we were very competitive against all the PAC schools. “

Top performances included senior Josh Guiser (Newell, PA / Frazier) who earned a second place finish in the 100 meter dash (10.90) and in the 400 meters, junior Jacob Mellinger (Leetonia, OH / Crestview) finished third (49.34). Dalton Paxson (Rochester, PA / Rochester) finished third in the 110 high hurdles (15.38).

As a squad, the 4x400 meter relay comprised of freshman Aaron Tedys (Riverside, PA / Riverside), Guiser, senior Ryan White (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) and Mellinger finished second (3:23.09).

To top off the day, the Golden Tornadoes earned a stellar first place finish in the 4x100 meters relay thanks to the work of White, Cameron Unrath (Wexford, PA / Pine Richland), Tedys and Guiser (43.08).

“This was a great preview of the PAC meet and I am very excited to see what happens in two weeks. I couldn't be happier with the performances out there. Josh, Jacob, Dalton, and the 4x400 meter relay team all qualified for ECACs, which are tough marks to hit.”
