Men’s 4x100 meter relay team sets school record

Bethany, WV – Saturday afternoon (April 4) the men’s track and field team competed in the Bethany Invitational. Geneva’s 4x100 meter relay took first while setting the school record to 42.65. The relay was composed of Ryan White (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton), Cameron Unrath (Wexford, PA / Pine Richland), local high school WPIAL gold medalist, Aaron Tedys (Riverside, PA / Riverside) and Josh Guiser (Newell, PA / Frazier).

Head Coach Phil Thompson commented, “This was a great meet for us. They came out and performed today. I am very pleased with today's results. The men's 4x100 meter had a great day. They won the event and broke the school record along the way.”

In individual events, Guiser placed third in the 100 meter (11.23) while Unrath placed fourth (11.36). Tedys earned a second place finish with the 400 meter dash (50.19).

Dalton Paxson (Rochester, PA / Rochester) earned a first place in the 110 hurdle dash (15.79).

Jacob Mellinger (Leetonia, OH / Crestview) placed third in the 400 meter with a time of 50.49 seconds.

Saturday, April 11 the Golden Tornadoes will travel down route 18 to Westminster College for a meet starting at noon.
