SantanaBeaver Falls, PA – Tuesday afternoon the Presidents’ Athletic Conference released its 2015 baseball all-conference teams. Based on the votes of the league’s nine head coaches, Geneva’s junior shortstop Andy Santana (San Pedro de Marcoris, DR/Desert Christian) and junior third baseman/pitcher Zach Ackerman (Lewis Center, OH/Worthington Christian) were among the athletes honored for their outstanding performances throughout the season.

Santana was named second team all-conference after 26 tremendous games in the 2015 season. Santana led the Golden Tornadoes offense batting a .372 percent while earning 32 hits, 20 runs batted in (rbi) and 19 runs.

ZAckermanAckerman was named all-conference honorable mention finishing his junior season on the mound with a 3-5 record. Ackerman lead Geneva’s pitching staff the team’s most 66.1 innings while earning the team’s best 3.66 earned run average (era). At bat he averaged .295 percent connecting 18 hits, eight rbis and five runs.

Head Coach Alan Sumner said, “These are nice awards for Andy and Zach.”

“It shows that the PAC coaches saw that Andy was one of the top shortstops in the conference and had a really nice season going before his injury shut him down.”

“They also recognized Zach’s work as both a third baseman and a starting pitcher for us. Both are well deserving of the recognition.”
