The Wednesday, June 10 episode of WORLD Radio’s The World and Everything in It (TW&E) has been posted to Geneva College’s website at http://www.geneva.edu/faith/the-world. The midweek edition of the show includes top news headlines as well as several in-depth stories on pertinent topics to our nation and the world. In top news, WORLD reports on the capture of 88 Christian migrants by ISIS, lapses in TSA security in airports and Texas police officer David Casebolt's resignation after a video of him pinning a 15-year old to the ground went viral. In business news, US stocks remain constant despite the European Union’s rejection of Greece’s bailout plan.

In the “White House Wednesday” portion of the program WORLD’s chief political correspondent Kent Covington and TW&E Co-Host Nick Eicher discuss Iowa Sen. Joni Hurst’s “Roast and Ride” event in Boone, Iowa. Many GOP candidates such as Scott Walker, Marco Rubio and Mike Huckabee were in attendance, serving barbeque and making speeches in an attempt to jockey for position in the polls to qualify for the first Republican Debate hosted by Fox this August. Fox has announced that it has room for only 10 candidates, putting pressure on candidates entering the race more recently. Covington also evaluates Texas Governor Rick Perry’s presidential bid announcement, remembering his definitive failure in the 2012 election.

To end the program, WORLD talks with Greg Brown, the Director of Urban Agriculture for Breaking Ground, an agricultural initiative in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood. Brown talks about impacting an impoverished urban neighborhood with low access to fresh vegetables by helping them to learn to grow food in urban environments. He believes that working with these people to improve the quality of life in these areas is also a testimony to love of Jesus Christ and will have a spiritual impact on communities.

Geneva is a sponsor of The World and Everything in It half hour news program produced by WORLD Radio.
