Geneva's Thomas Benyo Set to Highlight the Golden Tornadoes

PAC GT FootballBeaver Falls, PA – On Wednesday, August 5, 2015 the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) will host its ninth consecutive Football Media Day at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the leagues 11 football teams (Bethany College, Carnegie Mellon University, Case Western Reserve University, Geneva College, Grove City College, Saint Vincent College, Thiel College, Thomas More College, Washington & Jefferson College, Waynesburg University and Westminster College) will be represented by the program’s head coach and one football student-athlete who will preview the upcoming season followed by a set time to be interviewed individually by the press. To conclude the day’s media event the PAC will announce the 2015 football pre-season poll.

Head Coach Geno DeMarco and Defensive Back Thomas Benyo (Berlin Center, OH/Western Reserve) are set to represent the Golden Tornadoes.

DeMarco enters his 23rd year as the head coach of the Golden Tornadoes, his 30th year with the title, “coach.” Geneva will return 17 starters in 2015 including 2014 First Team All-PAC selection and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Newcomer of the Year, Nate Canon (Palm Beach Gardens, FL/Kings Academy) and 2013 PAC Rookie of the Year, Tim Martin (Moon Township, PA/Moon).

Benyo is no stranger to Reeves Field. He found his way into the rotation his sophomore year and has been a starter the past two seasons. In 2014 Benyo finished as the GTs second leading tackler while tallying three interceptions. As a Geneva student-athlete, Benyo is set to graduate in the spring of 2016 with a Business Degree.
