Geneva Launches Blog

Geneva Arch

Geneva College expands its digital-media presence with the addition of a collaborative, multi-author blog, launching on Friday, September 4, 2015. The Geneva blog is at www.geneva.edu/blog and also available under “About Geneva” at www.geneva.edu.

This initiative will enhance the college’s communication efforts though articles written by members of Geneva’s faculty, student body, administration, student development staff and others. The Web page is interactive, allowing visitors to provide comments and engage the authors and other readers in ongoing discussions.

Subjects of posts are widely varied to appeal to all segments of Geneva’s audience. Some articles will provide information for students—traditional, adult and graduate—engaged in the college search process. Others may be of primary interest to current students, parents, alumni, educators and more. Additional blog entries will address issues concerning adult college students, financial aid, study abroad, college preparation and campus life.

Regular entries about academics and Christian faith will also be posted on the blog.

One ongoing feature is “Ask the Chaplain.” Geneva Chaplain Rut Etheridge will respond to questions relating to Christianity and spiritual needs, particularly as they relate to college students and educational issues.

Geneva’s interim president Dr. Bill Edgar will also be a consistent contributor, with essays about higher education and Geneva College.

Questions for “Ask the Chaplain” and suggestions for articles may be emailed to editor@geneva.edu.

The Geneva blog provides an RSS feed. By subscribing to the RSS feed, frequent readers do not need to manually check for new content. Instead, subscribers’ browsers constantly monitor the page and inform users of updates.
