The Wednesday, September 23, 2015 episode of WORLD Radio’s The World and Everything in It has been posted to Geneva College’s website at http://www.geneva.edu/faith/the-world. Geneva is a sponsor of the half-hour news program produced by WORLD Radio, a nonprofit news team committed to honest reporting from a distinctive Reformed Christian worldview.

The midweek edition of the show talks about the GOP presidential race as well as the Hillary Clinton campaign. A new segment called “America’s Entrepreneurs” spotlights positive small businesses around the country.

In today’s top news, Pope Francis has arrived in the United States. He will visit the White House and meet with President Obama and his family as well as take place in welcome ceremonies celebrating the Pope’s first trip to the United States. Controversy has arisen from the President’s decision to invite gay and transgender activists from the Catholic community to the ceremonies. The Pope will primarily be in Washington D.C. and will also visit Philadelphia.

The Chinese President Xi Jinping has also arrived in the United States, albeit on the West Coast. His two day visit to the states will consist of his meeting with top technology companies Microsoft and Apple in California, as well as a meeting with President Obama. His meeting with the president will cover the topic of China’s alleged cyber-espionage, which president Jinping has staunchly denied.

In other news, European Union Homeland ministers have reached a tentative agreement on how to distribute Middle Eastern refugees pouring into the region. The agreement will place refugees in proportion to the host nation’s population.

In the White House Wednesday portion of the show, WORLD reports on GOP and democratic campaigns, specifically the recently ended campaign of Wisconsin governor Scott Walker and the struggling campaign of Hillary Clinton. The program also talks about Vice President Biden and the chances that he will officially begin a presidential campaign and about the bloated GOP race.

The new segment “America’s Entrepreneurs” highlights a local coffee shop in Greenville, South Carolina called Methodical Coffee. Owner and founder Will Shirts speaks about the process of how he came to own a coffee bar and about how he strives to create an environment centered on “good hospitality and good coffee”. The unique shop has a glass storefront, concrete floors, china mugs and music provided by a record player.

With the help of this sponsorship, The World and Everything in It is aired on 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA every Wednesday at 3 p.m. A rebroadcast of the radio show is also available on the Geneva website after it is aired on 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA so that those who live outside of the listening area may be able to hear WORLD Radio news with a biblical Christian worldview.

The World and Everything in It covers current news topics as well as issues such as legal battles, personal freedoms, government policy, racial intolerance and other topics of concern to the Christian community – all from a biblical perspective.
