Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva women’s soccer Golden Tornadoes hosted old NAIA rival Point Park University during homecoming weekend but it wasn’t a happy reunion for the Golden Tornadoes. Point Park handed Geneva its third loss of the season in a 3-0 final. The loss lowers Geneva’s overall record to 4-3 before beginning Presidents’ Athletic Conference play next week.

Point Park’s Simone Keibler opened the scoring as she finished a loose ball placed inside the 18-yard box from a corner kick.

At the half Point Park edged Geneva 1-0 after taking 13 shots at senior goalkeeper Anna McMullen (Uniontown, OH/Lake Center Christian).

Geneva tallied seven shots at Point Park’s net in the first half.

Point Park ensured the win with two more goals in the second half despite Geneva outshooting the visitors eight to seven.

Geneva will have the week off before visiting Grove City on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m.
