Geneva Students Present “Little Women” Musical

Little Women

Little Women

Performances of Geneva College’s fall theater production of Little Women will be Thursday–Saturday, November 5-7 and Thursday–Saturday, November 12-14. Shows will be in Geneva’s Bagpiper Theatre at 8 p.m. every day, with additional Saturday matinees at 2 p.m. on November 7 and 14.

The production is a musical, with script by Allan Knee, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein and music by Jason Howland. The story is based on Louisa May Alcott’s life and explores the lives of four sisters—Jo the aspiring writer, Meg the romantic, kind-hearted Beth, pretentious Amy—and their experience growing up in Civil War America.

Director Mindy Williams says, "Little Women was one of my favorite stories growing up, and I am excited for our amazing cast to bring it to life. The story of Jo March has inspired generations of women to pursue their dreams and our production continues to carry on this tradition with senior Communication Disorders major McKenna Pontoli as Jo."

Little Women is the first performance to be held in the Bagpiper Theatre after its extensive renovations. The venue now features a studio black-box style with an updated exterior.

General Admission for this event is $8. Student, senior citizen, and Geneva faculty, staff and alumni tickets cost $5. For children 12 and under, admission is $4.

To reserve tickets, call the Bagpiper Theatre box office at 724-847-5099.
