Geneva men’s soccer wins 10th of season, 6-0 over Thiel

Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva broke open a close game in the second half, scoring five second half goals to defeat Thiel 6-0 and win its 10th game of the season. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 10-4-3 overall and 5-1-1 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference action.

Geneva led just 1-0 at halftime, thanks to an unassisted goal by senior captain Sean Bernardi (Butler, PA/Butler). In the second half, the Golden Tornadoes quickly extended the lead to 3-0 on goals by sophomore Zach Lehman (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite). Sophomore Abel Carleton (Darlington, PA/Beaver County Christian School) assisted on Lehman’s first and sophomore Josh Brenize (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) on the second.

The second half onslaught continued on goals by senior PJ Luksik (Johnstown, PA/Bishop McCort) and freshman Nate Ferraco (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills). Both were assisted by freshman Liam O’Halloran (Elyria, OH/Elyria Catholic). A penalty kick by senior captain Kyle Terrill (Apollo, PA/Kiski) closed the scoring.

Geneva closes the regular season Saturday at 2:00 against St. Vincent on senior day.
