Volleyball defeats Waynesburg in three; 25-18, 25-15, 25-21

Beaver Falls, PA Volleyball defeated Waynesburg Wednesday in three sets (25-18, 25-15, 25-21). The win raises the Golden Tornadoes’ overall record to 25-6, 14-2 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

“Rachel Netherland and Olivia Test continued to attack efficiently as they have all season, with both hitting well above the .300 mark,” said co-head coach Curt Conser.

Netherland (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) finished the three sets with six kills, 13 assists and 14 digs. Test (Negley, OH/Heartland Christian) earned seven kills, two blocks.

“We were able to get Grace Hayes the ball more tonight and she really delivered with 12 kills and a .344 attack percentage,” said Conser.

In addition to her outstanding hitting performance, Hayes (Westminster, MD/Westminster) contributed four blocks.

“Marissa Naples chipped in all over the court with six kills, 12 assists, five aces, five digs and two blocks.”

Thursday, October 29 the Golden Tornadoes will travel to Bethany for their third consecutive game day. Geneva, seeded number two in the PAC, and Bethany, seeded number three, faced each other in Beaver Falls on September 9, 2015. Geneva defeated the Bison in four (25-22, 21-25, 25-17, 28-26). Geneva and Bethany will face each other in West Virginia starting at 7 p.m.
