The Geneva women’s soccer offense had a big night in the team’s 8-1 win over Bethany Bison raising the Golden Tornadoes overall record to 7-6, 3-3 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

Geneva outshot Bethany 36-16 in the win. Freshman forward Megan Schoeneweis (Moon, PA/Moon) started Geneva strong with her first of three goals 5:15 into the game off an assist from senior midfielder Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy). Mann would follow suit with her own goal less than a minute later. Following right along was junior forward Kimberly Orihel (Green, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy), scoring her first of three goals.

In the second half, Bethany scored in the 59th minute before Orihel and Schoeneweis finished their hat tricks. Rounding out the night was senior Hannah Beckhusen (Baldwinsville, NY/Faith Heritage) scoring a header off a direct kick by Mann.

Senior goalkeeper Anna McMullen (Uniontown, OH/Lake Center Christian) had a shut out half with seven saves.

The Golden Tornadoes are on the road Saturday, October 24 at 12 p.m. against conference opponent Thomas More.
