Wooster, OH - Geneva women’s basketball, now 0-2, dropped a 75-63 decision at Wooster Wednesday night.

Geneva gained a slight edge over Wooster early in the game at 8-5 after a pair of Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) free throws and layup. Wooster took control of the game for a 37-25 advantage at the half.

Geneva had four Golden Tornadoes score in double digits - Mann with 21, Jodi Carlson (Warsaw, IN/Warsaw) with 13, Callie Ford (New Middletown, OH/Springfield Local) with 11 and Nicole Hyland (Trafford, PA/Penn Trafford) with 10.

“Nicole stepped up big this game and our freshman are getting more comfortable,” said head coach Lori Wynn.

“If we don’t turn the ball over as much, we will do well.”

Mann led Geneva’s game off the glass with nine rebounds supported by Carlson and Hyland with seven each.

Wooster was led by Lauren Hancher with 18 points. Hancher scored her 1,000th career point in the fourth quarter.

Saturday, November 21 Geneva will return to the road to Franciscan University for a 1 p.m. tip-off.

“Franciscan should be a very competitive game. We are looking forward to it.”
