PA TRAC

Geneva College is pleased to announce its membership in the Pennsylvania Transfer and Articulation Center (PA TRAC) as of January 4, 2016. As a participating institution, Geneva will identify specific courses and degree programs that transfer seamlessly from other participating colleges and universities.

And Geneva is proud to be the only Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) member, and one of the very few private institutions, to opt into Pennsylvania's statewide transfer and articulation system.

All 14 community colleges located in the commonwealth, the 14 universities in the Pa. State System of Higher Education and six other Pa. institutions participate in PA TRAC. Once the specific course equivalencies and other details have been determined during the first few months of 2016, students from these institutions will be able to easily identify courses and degrees that transfer to Geneva.

“I really enjoy working with transfer students,” said Geneva Registrar Jennifer Carter. “And I’m hopeful for what we can do for transfer students here at Geneva through this agreement; once everything is finalized, Geneva’s participation should be particularly beneficial for community college students interested in an academically excellent, Christ-centered degree.”

Geneva’s participation in PA TRAC means that transfer students are less likely to lose credits and better able to stay on track in earning a college degree, which can be especially important to students attending two-year institutions who must transfer to complete a bachelor’s degree.

PA TRAC is an interactive site that provides free resources for transfer students. Online tools include:

  • Searchable databases to find transfer course equivalencies, transfer degrees, PA TRAC colleges and more
  • College profiles and contact information
  • A college transfer events calendar
  • Step-by-step instructions for transferring

The website also provides details about statewide transfer policies, such as the Statewide Program-to-Program Articulation and 30-Credit Transfer Framework.

The Statewide Program-to-Program Articulation allows students who graduate with specified associate degrees to transfer to Geneva as juniors into bachelor’s degrees in similar fields of study.

By enrolling in 30-Credit Transfer Framework courses at PA TRAC colleges, students can earn the equivalent of one full-year of study with the guarantee that all 30 credits will transfer to any participating institution.

PA TRAC is one of the key components that comprise Pennsylvania's statewide transfer and articulation system. This was established in accordance with a 2006 law aimed at benefiting college students transferring between public colleges and universities in the commonwealth.
