Heidi Mann Tabbed as Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of Week

mannBeaver Falls, PA – The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) has tabbed Geneva’s Heidi Mann as this week’s women’s basketball player of the week.

The 5-foot-7 senior guard from Colorado Springs, CO (Evangelical Christian Academy) tallied 37 points this week in the first week of conference competition, against Thiel (17) and St. Vincent (20). She shot 51.9% from the field while also shooting 61.5 % from the charity stripe. Off the glass, Mann averaged nine rebounds per game. She earned her second double-double of the season with 11 rebounds, 20 points on Saturday against the Bearcats.

After Saturday’s game Mann was honored as the third woman ever in Geneva history to reach the 1,000 point club by the end of her junior season. She currently holds the 11th highest career points (1,102) at Geneva as the 12th member of the women’s basketball 1,000 point club.

This week Geneva, now 3-3, 2-0 in the PAC, will compete in two road games before the Christmas break. The Golden Tornadoes return to action Tuesday, December 8 at Notre Dame of Maryland in a non-conference game on Tuesday, December 8. Saturday, December 12 Geneva travels to Bethany to pick up conference play in a 6 p.m. tip-off.
