Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva men’s and women’s track and field team competed this week at the Tiff Dragon Invitational at Tiffin University on Saturday, February 13. The track and field teams have broken school records in the past three meets; this meet would be no exception for them.

“This was a great meet for both teams,” said head coach Phil Thompson. “We really came out and competed well.”

In men’s action, junior thrower Isaac Barringer (Delta, OH / Toledo Christian) broke the first school record of the meet in the weight throw. His 13.25 meters mark (43-feet-6 inches) broke the record that had been set since 1999.

Sophomore sprinter Aaron Tedys (Beaver Falls, PA / Riverside) continues impress on the track by running to a second place finish in the 400 meter race in 50.17 seconds.

The women’s track was equally as impressive for the weekend. Junior thrower Sarah Foy (Rockwood, PA / Rockwood Area) finished seventh in the shot put, with a distance of 11.44 meters (37 feet 6 inches).

Sophomore sprinter Jessica Kelosky (Fombell, PA / Riverside) ran 8.05 in the 60 meter dash to not only break the school record, but also qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) post-season indoor season meet.

“This is a good way to go into the Conference Championship,” said Thompson.

Both the men’s and women’s track and field team will compete in the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) championship meet on Saturday, February 25 at Youngstown State University.
