Summer Camps

Geneva College announces its 2016 summer camp offerings for June and July. Summer camps offer children and teens great opportunities to learn and develop. This year’s expanded list includes new academic and sports camps. All camps take place at the Geneva College campus in Beaver Falls, just 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Musical Theatre Camp returns for another year of stage performance. Students take classes on stage movement, stage combat, dance and acting, and prepare for a grand showcase for the conclusion of camp. Musical Theatre Camp takes place on weekday evenings from June 13-24.

The Business & Leadership Academy provides students in grades 10-12 the opportunity to explore the business field. Camp activities focus on the areas of entrepreneurship, accounting, finance, marketing and human resources. This resident camp takes place from June 20-25.

The International Music Festival offers music instruction opportunity for instrumentalists and vocalists in grades 1-12. Music faculty and guest artists teach masterclasses, theory and aural skills sessions, and music history lessons. International campers receive daily English as a Second Language courses and visit local attractions. The camp has overnight and commuter options and is scheduled for July 18-22.

Leadership Adventure Camp gives students the opportunity to develop natural leadership abilities, as well as learn new skills. The camp features interaction with other students and activities on Geneva’s adventure learning challenge course. The residential camp runs from June 20-25.

Summer athletic camps begin June 13 with A Day with the Golden Tornadoes. The one-day event costs just $10 and is for students grades 1-8. A Day with the Golden Tornadoes features food and fun as students interact and play with Geneva student-athletes and coaches.

Geneva offers many opportunities for students to hone their basketball skills. For girls, a day camp is held from June 14-16. In addition, a shooting camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on June 23-25. Boys can participate in a day camp from June 20-23 or an overnight camp from June 26-29.

Boy and girl soccer players have the opportunity to work with members of Geneva’s teams on June 26-30. A day camp is offered to players age 6-10. Students who are age 11-17 can attend camp either in a full-day or residential format.

The More than Conquerors Youth Football Camp features sessions on the fundamentals of football for students age 8-14. The camp is run by Geneva’s head football coach Geno Demarco and other members of his staff. It takes place in the evenings on July 13-14.

The summer camp season concludes with Youth Softball Camp. Young players learn the basics of hitting, base running, fielding and more. This is a day camp for students age 7-15 that takes place July 18-21.
