Crestview Hills, KY – Geneva men’s tennis earned its first conference win in Kentucky Saturday afternoon against Thomas More. Geneva defeated the Saints 7-2 raising its overall record to 1-3, 1-1 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

“To see all the hard work finally pay off for these guys is just an awesome feeling,” said head coach Mandee Craft. “The win at second doubles was key as it really gave us a push heading into singles play but every player still had to get the job done. I couldn’t be prouder of this team.”

Jesse Hooke (Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) and David Streit (Mechanicsburg, PA / Mechanicsburg Area) earned Geneva’s second doubles win at 9-8 (3).

Caleb Hoal (Montrose, PA / Montrose) and Ethan Stahl (Beaver Falls, PA / BCCS) defeated third doubles opponents 8-2.

In singles play, Eric Abbott (Seven Fields, PA / Senca Valley) (6-3, 6-2), Hooke in second (6-4, 6-2), Streit (6-3, 7-5) at fourth, Hoal (6-1, 6-2) at fifth and Jared Rosenberger (Duncannon, PA / Susquenita) (6-2, 6-2) at sixth all earned Geneva’s wins for the program’s first conference victory.

The Golden Tornadoes are back in action on Monday, March 28 hosting Westminster at Blackhawk High School starting at 3 p.m.
