Thiel Sweeps Geneva Baseball 2-0, 2-0

Greenville, PA – It was a low scoring affair at Greenville on Tuesday, April 19 as Geneva College baseball traveled to take on Thiel College. The Golden Tornadoes dropped both games in the doubleheader by 2-0 scores. The losses drops Geneva’s overall record to 8-21, 3-16 in the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC).

In the first game, Thiel took the lead, scoring both runs on an error and a groundout. Drew Nichols (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington) allowed just three hits and no earned runs, striking out three and walking one in six innings.

Josh Glover (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) also pitched well in game two, holding the Tomcats hitless over two innings. Ian Macdonald (Grantham, PA/West Shore Christian Academy) drew the loss, pitching four innings. Thiel scored first in the third inning again, on an error. They scored again in fourth, their second and final run.

The Golden Tornadoes return home on Friday, April 22 to face Summit University in the first double header of the series at 2 and 4 p.m.
