Beaver Falls, PA – After the schedule was reorganized due to weather, Geneva and Washington & Jefferson finished their series at Geneva’s 33rd Street Field on College Hill with the Presidents serving as the home team. The Golden Tornadoes took out Washington & Jefferson 9-4, improving their overall record to 7-11, 2-6 in the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC).

Senior Andy Santana (San Pedro de Marcoris, DR/Desert Christian) went 5-5 at the plate. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the first, third, fifth, and eighth innings.

Geneva never lost the lead after the first, when it scored two runs on an RBI single by Santana. In the third, Geneva scored on another RBI single by Santana, allowing Sophomore Forrest Beighley (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) to score.

W&J went on an offensive run in the bottom of the sixth, but Geneva increased its lead with five runs in the seventh to take the game out of reach. As a team, Geneva would combine for 12 overall hits.

Drew Nichols (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington) racked up eight strikeouts in the win. Nichols allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks over 5 2/3 innings raising his record to 2-2.
