Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva College softball team hosted the Bethany College Bison on Saturday, April 23 in a sunny afternoon doubleheader. Unfortunately, strong Bison pitching would lead to the Golden Tornadoes losing both games 7-1 and 6-2, respectively. The losses move Geneva to a President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) record of 3-11, with the overall record sitting at 13-17.

The Golden Tornadoes could not get anything done offensively in the first game until the bottom of the seventh inning when Geneva scored on an RBI single by junior Lucia Fee (Wampum, PA / Mohawk).

Game two started out on a more positive note for Geneva as they were able to score on two RBI singles from Fee in the first and third innings, scoring Haley Sainato (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) both times. They would hold onto the lead until the top of the fifth inning when the Bison started their late comeback by scoring three runs in the fifth. They added two runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh.

Geneva softball will turn around quickly as the team travels to LaRoche College on Monday, April 25 to play a double header against the Redhawks at 3 and 5 p.m.
