Clara Sevy & Emily Keslar Double Team LaRoche in Monday’s Split

Pittsburgh, PA – Clara Sevy (Sykesville, MD / Chapelgate Christian) went 4-4 at the plate while Emily Keslar (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Connellsville) pitched a shutout in Geneva’s opening game win against LaRoche Monday. The 4-0 win was needed for the split as LaRoche bounced back, handing Geneva a similar 4-0 loss in the nightcap.  The non-conference split moves Geneva’s overall record to 14-18, keeping Geneva’s record at 3-11 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

Geneva put up two runs in the second and fourth for the 4-0 win.

Sevy had singles in the first and second followed by a RBI triple in the fourth and another single in the seventh.

Keslar kept LaRoche off the scoreboard allowed just five hits while striking out two.

On the other side of the coin in game two, LaRoche pulled ahead with three runs in the second and earned its fourth run in the third inning. 

Geneva returns to the road for one last time on Wednesday, April 27 to face Chatham University at 3:30 & 5:30 p.m.
