Beaver Falls, PA – Thomas More upended Geneva at Conrady Field Friday afternoon, handing the Golden Tornadoes a pair of losses (7-2, 11-0). The league losses even Geneva’s overall record to 10-10, 0-4 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

The Saints had two homers in the first game - a three run shot by Bree Appel (Amelia, Ohio / Batavia) in the top of the second. Senior pitcher Mamee Salzer (Erlanger, Ky. / St. Henry) had a solo home run in the third.

Thomas More capitalized on two hits and an error in the fifth, adding two more runs.

The Golden Tornadoes cracked the goose egg in the bottom of the fifth as a double by Laura Beck (Canfield, OH/Canfield) to center field scored Haley Sainato (New Castle, PA / Mohawk).

Sara Stoll (Norwalk, OH / Norwalk) added a run for the Golden Tornadoes in the sixth, driving in Clara Sevy (Sykesville, MD / Chapelgate Christian) but it would not be enough to overcome Thomas More’s hot bats.

The nightcap lasted just five innings as Geneva was held to four hits. Dayna Hicks (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) led the offense, going two for three.

Emily Keslar (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Connellsville) took both losses and is now 9-10.
