Jacob Mellinger Ends Career Handing Geneva Track Program First Postseason Medals

MellingerWestfield, Massachusetts - Jacob Mellinger (Leetonia, OH / Crestview) ended his career with a stellar performance at the (ECAC) Meet. Mellinger placed fifth overall in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.78 seconds.
On Friday, May 13 at Allegheny College Mellinger broke Geneva's school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.69 seconds, placing second. In addition, he placed first in the 400 meter dash (48.67).
"Jacob entered the ECACs ready and with momentum and his performance showed just that," said Head Coach Phil Thompson.
"It was our goal for Jacob to medal in both events. The top eight finishers receive a medal. These are the program's first ECAC medals. I'm very proud."
Alex Parker (Meadville, PA / Meadville) and Dalton Paxson (Rochester, PA / Rochester) also earned the honor of competing in the postseason. 
Parker earned a final time of 15.64 in the 110 High Hurdles while Paxson ran the 400 Hurdles in 56.28 seconds. 
In women's action, Nicole Bartoletta (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) competed in the women's 100 Hurdles with a final time of 15.52 seconds.
"This program continues to get stronger," said Thompson. "I couldn't be more pleased with the performances today."
