Men’s Soccer Match Ends in a Draw at Mount Union

msoccerAlliance, OH – The Geneva College men’s soccer team traveled to the University of Mount Union on Tuesday, September 13. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after two overtime periods. The tie gives the Golden Tornadoes an overall record of 2-2-1 remaining 0-0 in the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC).

Gib McCracken (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver County Christian School) opened the scoring for the Golden Tornadoes off an assist from freshman Jake Broadwick (Mckees Rocks, PA/Robinson Twp. Christian School) in the 33rd minute of the game to give the Golden Tornadoes the lead.

Mount Union even the score in the 65th minute of the game which would force overtime. After two scoreless overtime periods, the game would end with the draw.

Sophomore goalkeeper Luke Nolan (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) would defend five shots on goal while making four saves and facing four corner kicks.

Geneva will be on the road again on Saturday, September 17 at 2:30 p.m. as they face Fredonia State.
