Beaver Falls, Pa -Tonight the Geneva men’s soccer team once again proved to be an offensive threat as they defeated the visiting Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats 4-0 on Saturday, September 3. The home victory moves Geneva’s overall record 2-0 for the 2016 season.

Abel Carlton (Darlington, PA/Beaver County Christian School) found Pitt-Greensburg’s net early scoring in the 4th minute of the game.

In the second half, Carlton would score again, his third of the season. Senior Jonathan Shoaf (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Christian) and freshmen Devaughn Johns (Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA/Midd-West) each scored  to solidify the match.

“I’m very proud of guys for the 2-0 weekend,” said head coach Gary Dunda. “It was a real emotional weekend with the Nate Ferraco Classic. I’m really proud of the way we played in his honor and memory.” He continue, “We will now move on and get ready for next week after a good start to the season.”

The Golden Tornadoes travel to Franciscan University on Wednesday, September 7 for a 5 p.m. game start.
