gibBeaver Falls, PA – Junior captain Gib McCraken (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver County Christian School) was named the Defensive Player of the Week for the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC). McCracken has been recognized before by the PAC as second-team all-conference member in 2014 and 2015 but this is the first time McCracken has been selected as player of the week.

In Wednesday’s 3-2 overtime win against La Roche, McCracken evened the match at 2-2 with a goal in the 27th minute before converting the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 100th minute. In Saturday’s 4-0 shutout of Muskingum, he helped the Golden Tornadoes limit the Muskies to just one shot on goal.

Having quality minutes, McCracken has started in every game this season for the Golden Tornadoes. He has posted four goals this season, two of them being game-winners. He will be in action with the rest of the Golden Tornadoes on Wednesday, September 28 as they host Alleghany College at 7 p.m.
