Two Wins at Waynesburg Tally 8 Win Streak for GT Volleyball

Waynesburg, PA – Geneva’s 2-0 night at Waynesburg’s Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match between the hosts and the Chatham Cougars raises the Golden Tornadoes overall record to 9-5, 4-1 in the PAC. Geneva opened up the night against Chatham 3-1 (25-19, 25-15, 25-27, 25-16) followed by a 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-8) performance against Waynesburg.

Olivia Test (Negley, OH/Heartland Christian) led Geneva’s offense against Chatham with 12 kills. Grace Hayes (Westminster, MD/Westminster) also hit double-digit kills with 10, Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) supported the effort with nine kills.

Alaina Lytle (Warren, OH/Lakeview) tallied 26 assists in game one while Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield, OH/Kennedy Catholic) racked up 20 digs on defense.

Hayes continued to find success in game two against Waynesburg. She earned nine kills for 19 total kills in the nightcap. Carolyn Kaufer (Albion, PA/Northwestern) posted four aces over the Cougars. Lytle earned14 more assists sharing the passing responsibilities with Bailey McDonald (Amity, PA/Bishop Canevin) with 12 assists. Dickson racked up another 17 digs in the three sets.

On Saturday, September 24 the Golden Tornadoes enter another PAC tri-match, this time hosted by the Washington & Jefferson Presidents. Geneva is set to face Westminster at 2 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. match against the hosts.
